Correct they are the same; only the wheel specifications changes the track.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

14 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Bit more unusual and couldn't find any info during a search Anyone running 15mm front on 7,5J and ET50 with a 7mm rear on 10J ET65 on an early C2 with M030 dampers and -30mm H&R springs Done some basic measurement and as the rear arches aren't rolled there isn't loads of room back there with the drop. Lots more room on the front and prefer the idea on an hubcentric ring to locate the wheel and avoid wobble I've read about. Picture below is current set up without any spacer though I am running less rear camber now than this picture from when I first had the car. Seems this is popular over in the states but not seen it done here? image url

POST 2Original post

7mm are an easy fit. I have 15mm on 10" et65 and there's still plenty of room. I could go another 5mm easily. -30 H&R springs, 1.3* rear camber... so nothing silly. And my arches aren't rolled. 15mm on a 7.5 et50 is also fine... will still be a bit tucked.

POST 5Original post

Thanks Stotty. I'm on 295s and it doesn't look like I could fit a 15mm spacer in, and if I did, it would stick out way too far. In theory, with 295s, I'm already out 15mm from where I'd be with 265s. I'm on stock wheels 18x10 ET65.

POST 6Original post

I have the same wheels as the OP with 285's fitted at the rear with 15mm spacers with M030 suspension Can post a pic if that would help?

POST 7Original post

Sorry about the sideways pics. I should note, I am lowered on Bilstein B8s with H&R lowering springs

POST 8Original post

I recently made a video on this exact topic you might find useful, I did a ton of research to get it just right: https://youtu.be/iyZIx9Z2r-I

POST 9Original post

Nice chart! Am I to assume then that the GT3 has identical hub surface to hub surface measurements front and rear as a standard C2? So, if you removed the wheels and just measured the distance between the hub faces, I thought, that the GT3 was wider stance (pre-wheels) than a C2?

POST 10Original post

Correct they are the same; only the wheel specifications changes the track. Although the gt3 has rolled rear arches. For me the mk2 gt3 wheels were just too aggressive on offset for a mk1. Looks wise I prefer race car purposeful vs the modified 'stance' scene. You could tuck them in by adding camber, but I wanted to limit camber to make it more playful. What I ended up with is spot on perfect for me but I also appreciate everyone has there own preferences. As you've probably seen when considering the outside face of the wheel Front vs 7.5" et50 wheel i added a theoretical 16.4mm spacer Rear vs 10" et65 wheel I added a theoretical 10mm spacer

POST 11Original post

Thanks! I always thought the GT3s were wider hub to hub. Mine is a .2 so apparently already has rolled fenders from the factory. It still looks very tight with my present ET50 and 295/30-18, but maybe there is more room than I'm seeing.

POST 12Original post

Don't forget how the Camber is setup makes a huge difference Also to clarify if your are running a 295 Tyre on a 10" ET50 rim 1. the outside face of your wheel will poke out 0.3mm further than a 996.2 GT3 spec rim plus... 2. due to the tyre bulging on a narrow rim you'll have less Tyre clearance vs the tyre run on a 996.2 GT3 spec of 11" ET63

POST 13Original post

My apologies. That was a typo. I'm 8" ET50 in front. 10" ET65 in rear.

POST 14Original post

So looking at your table, if I go 15mm spacers in the front on Et50 8" wheels (225/40-18), this should bring me very close to GT3 spec. On the rear, a 15mm spacer on ET65 10" wheels (295/30-18) should put me just a tick less "poke" than GT3 spec. If ET 40 gives zero scrub, then the stock size on my 996.2 ET50 actually creates negative scrub, from the factory? Thanks for your patience, my head is swirling...maybe its the day drinking though.
