Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Leading evidence: 'Use ." whew' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Use ." whew' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I've got the Garmin C330 it is perfect. I think they've come out with a newer version since, maybe the 350? I'm not sure. Regardless it has all the maps for the country loaded and is very simple to navigate. I've taken mine from Seattle to Dallas and it was dead on the whole way. My wife went on a business trip to California this week and she threw it in her bag and took it with her. I would highly reccomend it.
I have a TomTom GO and I love it. Not sure how much they retail for these days. I have had it for a while (It's the basic moldel, not the 300 or the 700) and works very well.

My recommendation would be this:
Garmin StreetPilot i3
Compact, well priced, good features, and does exactly what you need. Then use the change out of your $400 to buy another Porsche cap and a bunch of flowers for the wife.
I have Garmin Nuvi 350 and love it. The size of a deck of cards and can fit in shirt pocket. Even my wife who cant work the TV thinks its great. You wont believe how much info is pack inside. Names, addresses and phone numbers for almost everywhere you can think of. The new model 360 also includes bluetooth so you dont have to take your phone out. Simply amazing!
Not inexpensive, but I like the Nuvi 660, especially with MP3 capability, bluetooth, and larger screen.

I am waiting for prices to go down after Holidays.
Go for the Garmin i5 The maps all North America are already loaded the cheaper ones (garmin) woun't hold the whole country maybe just newengland and NY then you run out of memory.
Maurice,
I just looked at the Garmin site and I think you may have the right recommendation for my needs. I don't need the extra features of the Nuvi series and the i5 looks like it has a bit more memory which will come in handy in a couple of years when I retire and start doing some road trips.
Once again, thanks everyone for the tips. If someone else is in the market, here is the link for the Garmins:

Garmin Nuvi: My wife has an SL 500, and she stole my Nuvi 350 because it's so much easier to use --- and she says, more accurate than the MB factory unit. I love the size: much more easy to travel with , is easier to use, and a much better screen than the i5, which a friend has (though it is a fine product) I am buying another Nuvi for myself.
Mineral,
I got several plugs for the Nuvi. What makes the screen easier to read? It looks like it is about the same size as the i5. I do like the idea that the unit is more compact.
My mind is no longer made up.

That'a like saying I want a 997 GT3 cheap. You want the best, you gotta pay.
However, you can find the 350 for under $500.
You can find factory reconditioned units here

for $450. I have purchased to GPS units from these guys.
Jim: I went the route of getting the i3 and it was a pain to load it up, and my trip from Massachusetts to Virginia took all its memory, I marched it back to the store. (they had told me the only difference was you had to manually load the maps) I upgraded to the i5 and have been very happy. I did get stuck in a tunnell in DC and lost my signal thus my next turn directions but I was able to reroute without a problem. Try that with a wife reading a map. I got mine from West Marine on an internet price that the store honored. Good luck.
The Nuvi 350 has plenty of memory. Holds maps for the entire Us and I believe Canada. If you are traveling to Europe you ca get maps for their as well. P;us it fits in your shirt pocket. Easy to pack and transport.
Well, I decided to get the Garmin Nuvi 350. We tried it out tonight and are very pleased with the performance, features and ease of use. Even my wife said it was "easy to use." Whew.
Thanks for all the input. You guys are great!
