Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Just picked up the 98. I’ve already been to PORSCHE for a new key. When I turn off the ignition with lights off key out, the lcd panels remain lighted. Is this normal?

POST 2Original post

until you open the door, yes. These keys have retain on power off which means some things like dash/interior lights/radio will stay on until you open the door. Common feature on many new cars in fact, some you can even adjust the amount of time.

POST 3Original post

My dash l9ghts remain off for 10... 15 minutes after I've removed the key... opened the door... and left. I'm guessing on the 10-15 minutes... but I've read upon these pages it's not abnormal.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Ok. so the LCD’s go out with door locking How about the part where you pull the light switch out while car running. I pull switch for dogs, but they go off when switch is released. Indicator light goes on while switch held. I guess after drilling the wheel Locks a new light switch is in order
