Surprised that 200+ folks have looked at it but no reply ... Not sure if this kind of posts are not answered !!!!!!!
We're very biased here. We don't give a hand to 911 fans... We flip them a finger instead :taunt:
(just teasing)
You should post this in a more 911 dedicated forum. Cayman owners balk at these figures. Teasing. ;-)
These cars havent depreciated as much as you think they have. Big demand for 997's. Go to the dealers and see. My best guess is this car is still close to 100k - 105k. Nice options. Maybe even a bit more.
That's right at about at a 10% discount which is very good for what is a current model year car regardless of body style. As spourreza stated the 997.2 body style is still sought after. I'd offer $90k even and say you would sign on the bottom line now,...*but* I would have no problem taking the present $10k discount they are offering, it's a good car with nice options. It won't last long IMO.
I am a newbie to the Planet-9 and I thought I had posted in the forum that was titled 'Club 911 - General Discussion'. I didnt know that there was a separate 911 forum other than this one ... No hard feelings.
The GTS are $20k off here in Norcal, saw an add at Stevens Creek Porsche.. but i believe the most I've seen on Carrera S was $15k and that was a cab.. no coupe.. you should asked for $15k off..
point them here ..

Yeah it seems the biggest discounts are coming on the loaded up GTS/CAB examples with straight S coupes being in short supply,....that is typical at the end of a 911 model line. Base and S coupes are going to go first with bigger discounts the higher the MSRP.
Now is probably the time to stretch for a GTS coupe if you can find one that is to your liking. Personally I think they were a bit overpriced from the beginning and many dealers loaded them up with a bunch of junk that negated the purpose of it to begin with.
Good luck with your decision...
somewhere in the mid to upper 80s would be about it on this car... we never had program money on 2wd 2012 cars.
With 991's in short supply and the overall changes still trying to gain traction with Porsche drivers, the 997.2 is REALLY in demand. 10% off new is solid, but I would have them throw in a clear bra install or something to sweeten the pot. I have an 09 997.2 C4S cab bought at the end of last year with 5k miles on it. Looking back I made exactly the right choice instead of waiting for the 991. For me personally I am *not* a fan of the Panamera "fast back" style that everything is going to. I think it's going to kill the looks of the new Cayman as well
Yesterday I was approached by a friend of mine who happens to be the Service Manager for Porsche Khobar branch. And was offered a new 2012 997.2 tt in the range of 450k SR (119k USD) to 480k SR (127k USD) depending on the options which is a very good discounted price having in mind my friend bought one last year 2011 997.2 tt for 600k SR (160k USD).
But I told him I'm not in the market now for a new car
