Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I have just fitted the kit from type911 and very pleased with it.
Leading evidence: 'Install kit' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Suggestion
If you do get them, they do not have the square fitting as per original so you need to check they are centred.

Also, I have mixed experience with filling engine mounts.

Suggestion
Filling the mounts with polyurethane was great for throttle response but was an absolute NVH abomination.

Given that CV-19 is giving me some time to play around I am thinking of experimenting with filling the voids in some standard mounts with polyurethane and just testing the outcome.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I am looking to replace the mounts on my 2001 996 C2 . They currently have 54,000 miles on them and are 19 years old. I have a tell-tale sagging exhaust tip and rattly passenger seat. Given that CV-19 is giving me some time to play around I am thinking of experimenting with filling the voids in some standard mounts with polyurethane and just testing the outcome. Does anyone have a spare oldset in not too bad condition that they would be willing to sell for a reasonable price? I fitted poly filled engine mounts in my old RX8 PZ (I still miss that car) and although there was some extra vibration in the cockpit, I really liked the feel of them. If my experiment fails, I will probably go for some semi-solids but I really don't like the current prices!!
Hi,
Have a look at Type911, they do a complete kit of 964/993 RS pattern mounts which fit the C2 and the whole kit is only about 170 pounds.
I fitted them to my C4S a couple of years ago, they are semi solid, don't induce any more vibration and work really well compared to OEM.
I have been really pleased with them and especially the price.
Thanks MC , much obliged.
Stew- I have been looking at the aftermarket 993 RS kit and agree it looks like very good value. My only worry has been that the mounts are made by Uro, (or so I believe,), and I have read that they aren't the best for longevity. It is really good to know that you have found them to be good. I might give them a go, seeing the kit is about half the price of other aftermarket mounts. Any other feedback on that kit would be really appreciated.
Just done a bit more research on Uro. Most of the negative feedback is from a few years ago. It seems that since 2016 there has been a concerted effort at quality improvement there. So assuming the mounts have beem manufactured since then and formed part of the overhaul they should be of reasonably good quality. Any other thoughts\experiences on Uro quality would be appreciated.
I didn't check reviews. The man at type911 is very helpful and he sells a lot of them. If you do get them, they do not have the square fitting as per original so you need to check they are centred.
On TVRs engine mounts are almost a service item but are easier to change on the 911, so a bit more expensive to buy but no labour!
I have the RSS semi solids. Really nice upgrade (Though not the cheapest). Improved the gearshift and stopped the sensation that there were two fat blokes wrestling in the boot when cornering. Whichever route you take though I doubt you'll regret it.
I too am happy with the pattern 993 RS mounts!
Also, I have mixed experience with filling engine mounts. I had to do this on my mr2 as you can't buy new ones anymore.
Filling the mounts with polyurethane was great for throttle response but was an absolute NVH abomination.
Filling the mounts with tiger seal seemed to be the sweetspot though
For those using the 964/993 RS kit,do you recall if it is a 125mm main bolt? I bought the kit components separately some time back off a post on here (which I can no longer find), with a 120mm main bolt, however I've seen a few differing posts suggesting a 996.1 requires a 125mm bolt :?:
Was also considering doing mine during the quiet time but the above has thwarted me somewhat :dont know:
120mm M12 x 1.5 is what you need. Plus flanged nut.
Also four M8 x 35mm flanged part threaded bolts to bolt to chassis
I purchased the following FYI:

Fitting is a doddle!
