Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I'm going to re-attach my aero side skirts with new 3M automotive molding tape (03609), as the tape I got from my local shop turned out to be sh*te. However, I'm struggling to find anything about recommended minimum ambient temperature for the adhesive to work properly. The daytime temperature here right now is varying from 4-12 degrees C, with closer to 0 at night. Should I wait for a few more weeks until the temperature is more stable?

POST 2Original post

Used this tape when I was in the bus building industry. Ambient temperature of 20 deg C OK. The absolutely critical piece of advice is to scrupulously clean the surfaces with a proprietary cleaner such as 3M cleaner - see attached info sheet. It is the difference between long-term adhesion and the part falling off over time.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks! As I suspected... I'll make sure to clean the surfaces thoroughly before reattaching and let it cure overnight at work.
