Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Afternoon Whilst my car was running on the drive for maybe 15mins. It kicked all the water out of the overflow. This has never happened before and I topped it back up and it seems fine. Does anyone know why this could happen?? Thanks Rik

POST 2Original post

What do you mean by overflow? Filler cap or burp valve?

POST 3Original post

You need to check if your fans are kicking in. You can check the low speed by turning your ignition on then switching your aircon on. Your Indy can check your high speed with his laptop as they're remotely switchable using that. Also check your rads aren't full of debris. They'd have to really bad though. It's a bumper off job then separate the air con condensers from the coolant rads. If it has done it once, it'll do it again. If you mean it came out of the filler cap then check that first as they are a known weak point. They're up to revision 4 now. My old C2 still had an 01 rev cap on. They're barely £20 for a genuine Porsche one.

POST 4Original post

If the coolant cap has white staining on it then it's probably been leaking for a while and needs replacing . Fans as mentioned need checking , if you have had coolant work done recently then there is the possibility of an air lock .. temp gauge should have read high if it was an actual overheat .

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi Guys Thanks for the help. It was from the cap itself.. it didn't look white at all. The temp didn't go up in the car. Ill get the fans checked as suggested. And replace the cap as it does look like it came off the ark. Thanks again guys, much appreciated
