Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi, I have a very painful dilemma, I have wanted a Generation 2 Carrera for quite a while now.. I think I have found the right car and they will take my Nissan 370Z and BMW R1200GS motorcycle in part/ex for the car.. The trouble is, I cannot for the life of me make a final decision.. all the key elements are in place but I feel I will miss my bike very much.. The car is white, manual december 2009 with under 15,000 miles on it.. it has the cocoa leather interior which I like a lot too and a fantastic sports exhaust.. however it does not have satnav which bothers my partner (not me though)
Any ideas and help would be much appreciated..
:thanks:
keep the bike and trade in just the Nissan. Play hardball with them! Its not a great economy so they will negotiate. The issue seems to be with the bike so in my view, keep the bike! And get the 911 - you will be the coolist kid on the block!
Appreciate the reply, I wish I could, but I need the £8500 from the bike to complete the deal
Also my relatives do not want me to ride the bike anymore, it's too dangerous.
1) since you're saying your family don't like you to drive the bike, then whether you buy the 911 or not it has to go. Therefore it shouldn't affect your decision about the Porsche.
2) I have a PCM in my car, yet it's only good for the logo it displays when starting the engine. I depend on Garmin and move it between my two cars for it has all my favorites and logged routes. Plus updating Garmin maps is much easier, cheaper and reliable.
Good luck with your decision
From the perspective of this Blood Bank Manager, I will side with your family. Motorcycle riders are our biggest customer.
Trade it in and buy the 911. Good luck.
Well, I drove it home today, it feels out of this world.. I really love it.. great steering feel and a great deal of 911'ness
I have a concern about the oil pressure however, the pressure gauge stays at about half way up after 2500 rpms. And drops below at lower rpms.. does anyone know whether this is normal? The car has a 2 year Porsche warranty.
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
A) Beautiful car. Enjoy.
B) You can always get a bike later. It's not like you had the last bike on earth and they were going to crush it.
C) I still think satnav is pointless. I'd rather use a $100 Garmin for the few times I need it a year. If anything, I would use it to negotiate and pretend to have really been looking for satnav.
D) Bikes are potentially more dangerous than driving but so is using a steak knife instead of a butter knife. You gotta draw the line somewhere, it's not like your base jumping after taking a huff of some crack.
:hilarious:
Thanks to everyone once again for their advice, help and sense of humour!!
I really love this car and have had to pinch myself a few times..
I may add a black Carrera stripe down the sides at some point in the future.
Also the stone guards on the rear wings were replaced but now have a load of air bubbles under them.. the screen also needs looking at, as it has tiny speccles on it from small stone damage, are these things covered on Porsche approved cars??
