Without checking I went straight back to my Cayenne ownership days using my replacable tip screwdriver as the "tool" Cayennes are 7mm not 5mm.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

1 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Can headlights seize in the runners? For the life of me I can't get mine out, both of the release clamps just turn and turn seemingly doing nothing. To help with access I now have both arch liners loosened and the bumper removed and they still won't budge! I can't even push them out from behind.

POST 2Original post

Unlikely it would seize as the runners are plastic. Are you sure you've undone the retaining bar? The socket you are using may not be making proper contact, and may just be spinning round. The bar would not just turn and turn, it 'clicks' hard into place when located properly.

POST 3Original post

As above I'd make sure the removal tool is aligning and seating correctly :thumb:

POST 4Original post

If your removal tool is playing up... I just used a normal 5mm socket. Funnily enough I helped a friend change a headlight bulb on his 4S. I tried to show him how using his socket set and a T handle... I couldn't get the bloody thing loose and found the T handle shaft was turning inside the handle!

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Problem solved. The tool was seating pefectly - but only in the grommet! Without checking I went straight back to my Cayenne ownership days using my replacable tip screwdriver as the "tool" Cayennes are 7mm not 5mm. It was only when I read the mention of 5mm I thought "that sounds small" and made some measurements. Still it was an opportunity in the sun to clean and check the rads and I was flying off the success of fixing the drivers door window regulator where the initial installer had left the extra stop in but left the membrane totally off :dont know: Thanks all.
