Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I've used design911, Porscheshop, ECP, several eBay sellers, bought rust treatment from Bilthamber and custom mixed base coat from an online paint shop in the last few weeks.
Leading evidence: 'Use design911, porscheshop, ecp, several ebay sellers, bought rust treatment' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'best bet as post/courier service is still working' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Use cars it's a great time' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Suspected cause
So, eBay is probably the best bet as post/courier service is still working!

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
10 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.
1 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

I've just gone with a 2nd hand part on eBay for £30 so will put that in and get everything back to normal.
Well, with all this time on our hands (I joke - I have to fit looking after two nursery aged kids and working full time...) now is a great time to be doing those bigger projects on our cars.
Since we can't use our cars it's a great time to embark on the ones that leave your car in bits for days...
I want to fit either a 997 or 997 GT3 shifter kit and spray my centre console arctic silver, but where to get parts?
I spoke to OPC and they won't deliver any parts to me unfortunately. I have always found OPC to be the cheapest place to get my parts. Sometimes 30% cheaper than Design911...
Where are people planning on getting parts, and where will indies they have remained open for emergency work be getting their parts from?
Stretching my french a bit but worked my through. Looks like they only have SS kits. Pricey too.
I found a stock, new 997 shifter kit on eBay for £200 but I can't remember how much it usually is from OPC.
By the way Alex. Do you recommend that metal bushing upgrade for stock 997 shifter?
I've used design911, Porscheshop, ECP, several eBay sellers, bought rust treatment from Bilthamber and custom mixed base coat from an online paint shop in the last few weeks. Always worth trying Amazon as well.
Most places that can sell online are still doing so. And I noticed that even places like Royal Steering wheels are still keeping going.
I'm happy to accept paying a few £ more at the moment to get the parts as waiting on them arriving and working on my cars is the only thing keeping me from committing a murder right now.
Yeah, it's a shame, theoretically a good time for projects but parts will be tough to come by and you could get stuck in parts limbo!
After 3 weeks I didn't manage to source a heater matrix for my 996 (see project post), Design 911 unfortunately don't indicate whether items are in stock or not on their website, and are now saying end of May for the item I ordered. OPC aren't supplying parts either. I've just gone with a 2nd hand part on eBay for £30 so will put that in and get everything back to normal. I've been driving around with a wiper delete recently!
So, eBay is probably the best bet as post/courier service is still working!
I think you're better asking one of the many members who've purchased one from me. I know I couldn't live without it. It's a bit 'weird' at 1st but once it becomes natural, driving a 996/997 with a standard shift just feels like you're doing an impression of Dave Nicey Nice - Let's Rock!
