Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

8 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1Original post

I'm going to leave the brand new 997 CS in my garage for 2 weeks What precautions should I take?

POST 3Original post

I went away for a month last December and was also unsure of what to do to my Cayman before I left. I did the following: Topped off gas tank Washed and dried car (Drove around the block a few times to dry brake rotors) Kept E-brake off and used wheel blocks (not sure if this matters but i've had calipers stick in the past on my other cars after long periods of storage) Threw cover on. That's it. When I returned the remote did not unlock the car so I thought the battery went dead. I unlocked the door manually and turned the key on and off and it came back to life. It seems as though there is a sleep mode of sorts that kicks in after a period of time.

POST 4Original post

Give me the keys. I'll take care of it while you're gone.

POST 5Original post

In addition to what others have said, it wouldn't hurt to put it on a battery maintainer/trickle charger. It's probably not necessary, but doing so insures that the battery won't drain down.

POST 6Original post

It never hurts to keep the car on a battery tender. Wash it and throw a cover over the car. Catch a feral cat or two and tether them to the car with enough lead so they can fend off rodents. Leave enough food and water to keep them alive, but not enough to make them lazy. Of course you will need a dog to keep the cats off the car, and maybe some chickens or goats to clean up after the dog.

POST 7Original post

I was just on a 6 week business trip and everything was perfect when I got back - started right up.
