Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1Original post

has anyone actually done an aftermarket wood upgrade. i've never even seen a 911 with wood but it's offered as an aftermarket add-on on older models like my 2009 997 and the new 991s can be ordered with it. i was tempted because i love the wood in my cayenne, but it was pre-installed. and its walnut. the wood trim in the new 911 is mahogany...generally too red for me. anyone have any experience with installed new or as an aftermarket option?

POST 2Original post

Check out suncoast parts. I know they had a factory Macassar wood console for our cars on deep clearance

POST 3Original post

thanks. maybe at some point in the future there will be a walnut option. i'm not crazy about the red tint to the wood. we have the walnut in our 2012 cayenne interior, shift and steering wheel and its really nice. i think that dark wood would be nice in the 911s as well. even if i order the car the only option at least this year is mahogany...not my favorite. i looked at these kits for my current 997 but i'll probably trade up to the 911 in the next couple of months. and as of yet there's no way too actually get what i want. multiple wood options are probably a year or two away...
