I didn’t clean those after I purchased here but what I did was to clean the backside of my wheels with a fine sandpaper so they sit perfectly flush with the spacers.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

I just purchased a set (7mm front; 14 mm rear) of used H&R spacers from a fellow Planet-9 contributor. What is the best way to clean/prep them for installation? Thanks, James

POST 2Original post

Aluminum? I’d say brake part cleaner. You may consider some anti-seize behind them as I had a set get pretty stuck on an E46. Shawn in VA (USA)

POST 3Original post

Quoting from H&R: "made from high-tensile aluminum alloy and have a special anodized coating".

POST 4Original post

Seller here.. I didn’t clean those after I purchased here but what I did was to clean the backside of my wheels with a fine sandpaper so they sit perfectly flush with the spacers. I think the imprint you get from the wheels on the spacer is inevitable. Especially in the rear it might be a tight fit initially as ELCID86 said a bit of anti sieze around the hub is a good idea.

POST 5Original post

really don't need to do anything to them cosmetically for them to work correctly.
