Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I've not looked at prices for a while now, I went through 3 stalks sets in my first 5 years but since I fitted the last one with CC it's been fine.
Leading evidence: 'Install last one' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Install last one' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

It seems to be available at a reasonable cost and having used a PC based system to interrogate and program previous cars, I'd be happy to pay for it rather than have it done at a dealer.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Evening all
With an imminent arrival of a C4S manual on the cards, I've been reading the thread for retrofitting cruise control to the vehicle and understand the need to code the relevant ECU to enable the feature to function. I've asked in a different post which diagnostics are best but wondered if PoCOM would be able to carry out the necessary to turn on the cruise control function?

Thanks

It wasn't worth the hassle when I priced it up. Local very respectable Indy did mine all in for under £400 and gave me my original stalk unit back to flog on eBay (got £80).
I'm sure I read it was something silly like £300 now or more. :dont know:

My indy asked me to make a donation to charity for coding mine - remember if you have a Tip, it needs coding in two places (one being the gearbox)
Fitting the stalks with Leon's instructions on this site was straightforward.
I've bought a new stalk assembly with CC, but it doesn't come with the end caps.
Any one got the part numbers for the end caps for the right hand stalks?
I presume I can order these from the OPC?
So after fitting I'll need to get these coded in, shame standard Durametric isn't capable.
In fact I'm surprised the first owner didn't spec CC, but did shell out for the aero kit, PCM etc
I suspect you have a facelift car. If so, have a look at Leon's excellent guide here:

Good shout Maldren, that is exactly what I need.
My 996 is facelift, I believe all turbos are?
I actually prefer the look of the original lights over the facelift.
I believe the existing caps come off and go on the new stalk. Of course you don't have a cruise cap so you will have to buy one, why they don't come complete is beyond me! anyway the part number for the 'cap for cruise control switch' is 996-613-505-10-A05. :thumb:
