My clutch pedal is giving me some weird feedback. When I push in the pedal to shift, it goes all the way down. Right when the pedal reaches the bottom point it pauses then makes a noise and moves further down just a bit more. Not a lot just a little bit. The noise it makes is not the clutch in starter switch. It is a tad bit louder then that. Also the car shifts into and out of gear just fine and the pedal returns to the normal position. Anyone know what might be going on? It just started within the last couple of days. Could it be a spring or maybe an adjustment out of line? Need some help here. Thanks

There is no change in pedal effort and it does not happen all the time. Just every once in awhile.

What year is your car? If you have the old style booster spring, it may sometimes make a noise at the end of its range. It does not effect clutch operation. Easy replacement.

Could it be that the clutch slave cylinder is bad and you're losing hydraulics? Happened to a friend with a new 997S. Take it in and have it checked.

My car is a 99 C4. Does that have the spring? Also I check the brake fluid level and it near max level. I am assuming that this fluid runs both the clutch system and braking system. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Yes it has the booster spring and unless it was changed, it has the old design. If you said the noise is coming from the pedal area, it is not slave.
