Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Considering putting in a bid for a 996 Targa Tiptronic, '02, 39k miles, fine condition, sat nav, metallic paint, etc
Current dealer offer is £23k...do you think a £21k bid would be fair or am I better off waiting for an opportunity to turn up in the market?
At the end of the day we still are in a recession...
What's the colour combo, owner and most importantly service and wear+tear situation?
Personally I think it's a little overpriced (by about 3k), but if it really needs absolutely nothing doing to it (eg. tyres, discs, pads, service, RMS (less of an issue), suspension etc) is a C16 UK car and has a good warranty, then I wouldn't rule it out.
For that money though, I'd expect PCM (satnav/phone), 18" wheels, PSM, parking sensors etc (ie. v good spec).
Thanks, overall agree with you
Colour combo is metallic silver with black leather interior. In good condition but nothing too original.
Wear & tear is fairly good...very minor exterior scratches but nothing too serious
It does have PCM (1.0 though), 18" wheels, parking sensors, not sure about PSM...assume it's not standard?
What do you mean by C16UK car btw?
Cheers
PCM2 is by no means great by modern sat navstandards but is still useable and probably still adds some value for its OEM look and integration. Nav is reasonable compared to my Indago, and I like the integration with the OBC.
PCM1 has very limited mobile network compatibility (o2 & Vodafone only ?) and slower navigation. PCM2 maps are available for 2008, but expensive. Some claim that PCM1 canuse later Opel maps.
C16 is an equipment code found on the Vehicle Identification sticker. This sticker is usually white, about 3.5" x 4.5" and stuck on the inside of the front boot lid, near the front.
At the bottom of the sticker should be groups of three characters, usually starting in C16 - this just means it's been made for the UK market. The other groups dictate what options were fitted when the car was assembled.
This sticker can also be found on page 4 of the Guarantee and Maintenance booklet (service history book).
Well, compared to what I've just paid to an OPC for a 35k miles '02 C2 Speed Yellow/Black Cabrio that's much cheaper.
Mine comes with colour coded hardtop, PSM, Sports Chassis, 18" Sport Design wheels, NO PCM, No Parking Sensors, CD changer in the boot, a 'Major Service' including spark plugs and 12 month Porsche Warranty and I think a non-switchable sports exhaust, (If such a thing exists)???
