And yes I absolutely agree to the GT3 badge, the previous owner already had the badge on there, but that will be coming off this week when I get time, I prefer the clean look anyway.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

47 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks to everyone for the viewing, i'll post up more in the new year when she is complete.

POST 4Original post

Sick, just sick. Congrats. LOVE the Speed Yellow!

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks for the kind comments, I really am in love.

POST 6Original post

Looks good lowered. I have an 01 aero. Did they import Mark I GT3's?

POST 8Original post

Awesome! Great Pics. Love that Speed Yellow and Aerokit!

POST 10Original post

Very nice! Great looking car... lowered... wheels,... aero kit... what's not to like? Awesome!

POST 11Original post

Beautiful car! Is that the Rockville Pike and Rockville Porsche Audi, from whom I declined to buy a 1972 911S at $30,000 as too expensive eight years ago? I'm an idiot, of course. Love your car.

POST 14Original post

It says GT3. It has a GT3 tail . I thought it was a GT3. I have a lot to learn....

POST 15 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

And yes I absolutely agree to the GT3 badge, the previous owner already had the badge on there, but that will be coming off this week when I get time, I prefer the clean look anyway.

POST 16Original post

Car looks great. Love that speed yellow. Enjoy!!!!

POST 17Original post

I was thinking, wow what a car......then I see the gt3 badge and cringe, and then I read you'll be removing it,...so, I am back to "what a car", it looks fabulous. I usually don't like the mk1, but it works very well on your car, and those porsche design wheels are just perfect. Do you also have the LSD ?, anything special with the interior, if so you owe us an interior shot P.S: Also, curious about the suspension?...it's definitely not stock.

POST 19 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi Jeeva, actually I also cringed like yourself at the sight of the badge I have a black 911 emblem but i think a badless look would be sweet. I am working on the interior over winter and have a short shifter waiting to be installed, as for the shift **** I like the look of the 997 GT3 one. I'm thinking the only remaining exterior items are wheels (maybe) and painting or removing those bumperettes. Again thanks for all the kind words.

POST 20Original post

in my eyes, definitely the best looking narrowbody 996 made with that gt3 aero full kit including them rear strakes may i ask what year and how much you paid (mileage helps)? options?

POST 21Original post

It looks like you are missing the wickerbill on the spoiler. If you add it (and you should), leave it black. Talk to Eric at bumperplugs.com for the painted bumperettes.

POST 22Original post

WOW, truly amazing! You have a great car Now that tail is simply the Aero-I tail, right? Not a GT3 tail ... Was there a GT3 at the time?

POST 23Original post

Yes, the Aero-I was the same as Mk-I GT3. I don't think it was for the US market.

POST 24Original post

Great car - I think it would look great with the black 911 badge. If you don't have something on the back, no one will know what you're driving!

POST 25Original post

As I was picking up my car from the dealer today, I noticed a base 996 C2 with the GT3 spoiler, wheels, wing, and rear deck badge with a vanity plate that read "GT3 POSR"..... made me chuckle for a moment.

POST 26 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi Patrick, What is the Wick-Bill, and where do I purchase it from, do you have any pics? Thanks. Just to answer a few questions: 1. may i ask what year and how much you paid (mileage helps)? options? A. I paid 42 with 17k miles, full TechArt Aero kit, pedals and Exhaust. The car was owned by an ex-president of a west coast porsche club who also has a bunch of collector cars and a ferarri. 2. Is that the Rockville Pike and Rockville Porsche Audi, A. Close, there was a recent meet (last of the year) at the Starbucks opp Toys R Us, the other pics were taken by my friend off shady grove krispy creme doughnuts. 3. Suspension is upgraded and far from stock. Again thanks to everyone, I really did find a gem.

POST 27Original post

It is a lip that gets mounted at the rear edge of the lower wing. I can get pictures and a part number when I get home this evening. Maybe someone can beat me to it. I had mine painted to match the car. I wish I had left it black.

POST 28 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Appreciate that, I'll then order one.

POST 30Original post

The wicker bill, or gurney flap, is part #996 512 988 00 2.4.1 Measure the gurney flap and transfer the width dimensions to the lower plane of the spoiler. 2.4.2 Apply adhesive, part number 999 915 400 00 on the bottom of the gurney flap in the center and along its entire length. Diameter of the bead approx. 3 mm.Stick on the gurney flap flush with the radius transition of the edge at the lower plane of the spoiler. Make sure that the gurney flap is parallel with the edge. Immediately remove any emerging adhesive. Use adhesive tape to hold the gurney flap in place during the adhesive hardening process (approx. 12 hours). 2.4.3 Measure the logo and transfer the width dimensions to the rear lid. The bonding height is 50 mm from the lower edge. Remove film from the logo and stick the logo symmetrically onto rear lid. (You may already have on ethat I didn't see in the pictures)

POST 31 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Patrick cheers for the details So just to make sure is it the part that I've highlighted in yellow, I won't be painting the part itself as I guess it will look good on yellow if it remains black.

POST 32Original post

That's the one. I think it will look great in black, especially since your front spoiler lip is black.

POST 33Original post

All I can say is WOW...That is so nice. It must be a blast to drive..

POST 34 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Sure is, whenever she gets out. Patrick going to order that part today, where's the best place to order from?

POST 35Original post

If your dealer doesn't give you good prices, I would suggest Suncoast or Sunset.

POST 36 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

cheapest quote i've obtained is from sunset waiting on a friend if he can do better, again thanks for all of your help.

POST 37Original post

what's the website for sunset and suncoast? they're not on our sponsor site........are they?

POST 38Original post

Oh yeah baby! Welcome to the SPEED YELLOW club! Here's a pic of mine.

POST 39 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Haha, very nice mate! My first choice was actually white of which I didn't find any for sale, but now I'm really happy that I went with this one. Sorry but you owe me pics of her!!

POST 40Original post

Same here. White was my first choice........BUT the wife ORDERED me to get speed yellow. I can't tell you how much I was hesitant to getting yellow, but oh yeah....I LOVE IT! Here's some more pics......

POST 41 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Superb, now I am ordering that Yellow rear center console from Eric!

POST 44Original post
