Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

10 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi Last couple of times I have started my car, I have noticed that the clock LED in the dash board wasn't lit. It seems to come back on with a quick tap on the dash but wondered what could be causing this & if anything was on its way out (Bulb's LEDS, switches etc). The other LED (Speedo, computer) seem OK at the moment (touch wood). :dont know: Any advice would be much appreciated. Cheers Adam

POST 2Original post

They are screw in bulbs on the back of the cluster, maybe it's coming free or just getting knackered. Easy fix, just slightly fiddly...

POST 3Original post

I am 100% it will be a poor connection on the twist-in bulb caused by colder weather. You need to remove the cluster and re-seat the bulb firmly. :thumb:

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Ok, thanks guys. I will have a look at this at the weekend. Does it take long? I was just worried that it might mean a new instrument panel or something.......Phew

POST 5Original post

Shouldn't take more than an hour for the first time. TB

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Cheers :thumb: Silly question, but can anyone point me in the direction of a replacement bulb. Might as well replace while i'm there. design911 maybe? Cheers

POST 7Original post

Cheapest and easiest way is to buy part number R286 This is the standard part number for that bulb that all the trade recognise Usually costs about 30p

POST 9Original post

OR..... Try Red ones R286R, they look way better than the standard Orange see here http://images.google.co.uk/imgres?i...&tbnw=96&prev=/images?q=r286+bulb&gbv=2&hl=en

POST 10 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post
