Suggestion

We just use warm water with ordinary wash-wax in it, and give it a good scrub with a soft-bristled brush (one of the little girl's old hairbrushes is perfect!).

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Seeing as this is my first cabrio, and my first 911, i'm just wondering if there's anything i need to do before i fi my hard top for the winter? Are there any issues with having the soft top folded dowm for a number for months? Or will it be just fine? cheers

POST 2Original post

good question that, im not sure, i just cleaned the roof and made sure the rear plastic window was clean so it would not scratch.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Any particular cleaning, and products, or just a normal wash?

POST 4Original post

We just use warm water with ordinary wash-wax in it, and give it a good scrub with a soft-bristled brush (one of the little girl's old hairbrushes is perfect!). Make sure the hood's absolutely bone dry before you put it down so you don't get mould sprouting on it, and I always stop it halfway down just to make sure its not got any 'wrong' folds in it. We've never had a problem leaving the hardtop on from around now right through till March/April, although last year the car was used continually. This year it'll be garaged till the weather picks up, so the hardtop won't be used. Pete

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

COol. Thanks for the pointers. Good clean and dry it is then. Will do it as soon as i get a chance on a dry day, then park it in the garage to dry fully then fold till the sun comes back which may be a long time here in Swansea!!

POST 6Original post

Can someone please tell me if you click the front down or the rear down first when fitting the hard top.

POST 7Original post

rear I think, pretty sure it's in the manual though...

POST 8 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Having only fitted it once, when i bought the C4, i 'm pretty sure that we rested it on the front catch, then bolted the rear down, then clipped in the front. Will be doing mine next week !
