I was wondering if anyone on here has used the OEM amp along with replacement speakers and headunit to good effect?

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi guys. Just picked up my 996 Carrera last week and whilst I love the car, the stereo system is somewhat lacking. The OEM Porsche amp and speakers are still in place (non Bose) but the original headunit has been replaced with a prehistoric VDO / Dayton single din sat nav unit. I was wondering if anyone on here has used the OEM amp along with replacement speakers and headunit to good effect? If so, what setup did you go for?

POST 2Original post

I am in the process of upgrading my system, i chose a double din unit, the JVC KW-AVX820 Double Din now installed and looks great http://www.alphacaraudio.co.uk/images/OLDSITE/JVC_KW-AVX820.jpg I have just purchased the following and waiting to install them JLC2-525 Front door speakers and front tweeters JLG4500 4 channel Amp

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Cheers mate. I've already decided on a head unit: Just unsure about speakers and amplification! :thumb:
