Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Width makes a significant difference to the price (ref my original post, I used to get two rear Pirelli P Zero Assimetricos for £350 fitted on my 2001 Carrera 4).

I have a 996 turbo and recently replaced the two rears for £423.50 all in.

On the downside, the cost has proved a bit of a shock given that I used to replace two rear Pirelli P Zero Assimetricos on my Carrera 4 for around £350.
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

On the upside, the Michelin Pilot Sport 2 is a great tyre - the grip levels are good, they wear pretty well and it's likely they worked as well as run flats yesterday.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

After a 260 mile round trip yesterday I noticed in the evening that the n/s/r tyre on my car was flat.
No idea when it happened, but there was nothing during the journey that indicated I'd had a flat - no impact on the car's handling.
I took it to my local tyre emporium (Kenway) this morning and after discovering the puncture was on the shoulder I was given the good news that they had a replacement tyre in stock. However, this was swiftly followed by the news that the replacement was £356 fitted. After recovering consciousness I queried the price, but was advised that this was their best price.
So my wallet's now £356 lighter. On the downside, the cost has proved a bit of a shock given that I used to replace two rear Pirelli P Zero Assimetricos on my Carrera 4 for around £350.
On the upside, the Michelin Pilot Sport 2 is a great tyre - the grip levels are good, they wear pretty well and it's likely they worked as well as run flats yesterday. Boy, what a price though. I'm so looking forward to telling my wife...
Robbery?
Has there been a hiest? Try U tires or My tyre, black circle.com ..all good strangly not always the same price at the same time...
Sorry to hear about your experience it does take away some of the joy doesnt it.....
Sorry to hear that mate.
I have a 996 turbo and recently replaced the two rears for £423.50 all in. I have the receipt in front of me and they were £176.56 each before tax and fitting. F1's in MAIDSTONE did them after price matching my initial quote from event-tyres.co.uk.

Had all four 18s replaced on my car with Conti SportContact N rated
£774 all in inc VAT (fronts about £167, rears £230 each)
PS - that was from an OPC! (Cambridge)
The issue in my case was two fold:
1. The rear tyres on the C4S are 295mm wide. IIRC the Carrera 4's are a little narrower. Width makes a significant difference to the price (ref my original post, I used to get two rear Pirelli P Zero Assimetricos for £350 fitted on my 2001 Carrera 4).
2. My car's on Michelin PS2's with an N1 rating all round, so I need to stick to that. In the online searches I've done I've not found that tyre anywhere (although I've not searched exhaustively as it's a case of shutting the stable door after the horse has bolted!).
I've only myself to blame - I should have phoned around for prices beforehand. That said, I needed the tyre today (my car's my daily driver) and I'm fairly sure I'd have been quoted similar at any of my local fitters.
As far as I know Michelin are no longer making PS2 N1 tyres, they have been superceded by N2/3. You can still get hold of some sizes eg 285 but not for much longer. probably the reason you had to pay so much.
