This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hey Guys, Potentially thinking about purchasing a 996 Turbo and just trying to get an idea for the costs of items that are likely to need replacing to find out if I have enough spondooly to buy my dream car. 1. Cost of brake discs and pads 2. Clutch I will only be buying a car with a warranty so am no sure that I have missed any items that I could potentially have to pay for outside the warranty - any ideas? Cheers

POST 2Original post

Get a copy of the warranty, see what it excludes. That would be easiest. Things like PCM, Air Con re-gas are normally excluded. If you're worried about costs, ensure all the consumables have been replaced prior to purchase, or use it as a bargaining point. Whats your budget? If you have £40k to spend then look for a car in the £35k ball park, £5k should keep you on the road for a couple of years. Most importantly, stop thinking about it and do it. Prices seem to be going up, so the longer to think the less cash you'll have  Once you have it you wont care about running costs :thumb:
