Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

The car is 2014 but the towbar was fitted by an OPC when I bought the car probably 3 years ago.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

2 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

The elecrically-retractable towbar of my Cayenne is stuck out. It feels utterly solid but I'm getting a big red warning message that the hitch is not locked and the LEDs on the control buttons in the boot are flashing wildly. The car is 2014 but the towbar was fitted by an OPC when I bought the car probably 3 years ago. I've tried pulling fuses etc to reset it to no avail. Is this likely to be fixable by the replacement of the failed parts, or do I have to resign myself to essentially buying a complete new unit? The OPC wants to charge me £280 to diagnose the fault, which seems a waste of time and money if the only remedy is complete replacement...

I’m not being smart , but a belt of a hammer often works in similar cases.
