Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

In a similar situation, I just got mine replaced, they were quite badly pitted though.

I too always make sure these are dried after use & the car is garaged every night.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Need some replacement disc's.
Got some quotes from indy's but was wondering if it would be cheaper to order the parts from design 911 & have them fitted?
Anyone else done this and can any one comment on the quality of the disc's?

Any comments welcome
Cheers
Thats the exact package that is on your car (my old car) right now. Are you sure they need replacing? They're not that old and I always made sure I dried the brakes off after washing, or before parking up after driving in the wet. Maybe some spirited driving would sort it out?
Ah Ok, cheers Josh.
The existing brakes got through the recent MOT although they did advise of pitting on the inner faces.
I too always make sure these are dried after use & the car is garaged every night.
Not really sure if they need doing or not.
I was advised on the Peter Morgan PPI that the inner faces were heavily corroded and needed replacing but I am fully aware of this 996\986 disc problem.
I'm just going on what I have been advised. How would I know for sure. Surely any garage will advise that the disc's need replacing to make the extra money on the labour?? :dont know:
I guess the other option is to "Skim" the inner faces? Opinions?
I think these work out slightly dearer for the OEQ or OEM quality discs as the kits on design911 also include pads, sensors etc.
Cheers anyway Llyod :thumb:
On skimming? There is a huge thread on here somewhere which deals with peoples opinions on skimming. And there were lots of opinions.
Why not ask your indy what they think and what they charge for skimming/fitting new stuff. That might make your decision for you?
I'd be surprised if skimming is much cheaper.
I would think the disks still have to be removed, and you have the additional labor of doing the skimming.
