Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

43 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/282084.htm The best bit is..... "700L reads TOOL turns heads and atracts crowds. Valued at 25K I am looking for sensible offers over 12K. " This is quite a smart number plate because it also caters for if the driver is the ultimate TOOL aswell....... Edited by SpeedFreakDave on Tuesday 11th December 15:49

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Its a classic...."its worth 25k but you can have it for just over 12k"......I fancy sending him a message saying I think his plate is sh*te but I'll give him 50% of the value for his motor He's obviously a generous kind of guy!

POST 5Original post

7ool says more about the owner than the car imo.

The owner of Snap-On is probably buying it right now

SpeedFreakDave said: Valued at 25K There are some quite nice, tasteful, private plates. But those that require mis-spacing, modifying the letters or numbers, or need to be explained, are usually a bit naff. 7 OOL is quite nice, and probably worth £5k+. 700 L is better but would be illegal. 7OOL with the 7 made to look like a T would just look sad, IMO, and may attract unwanted attention, particularly from

Best I saw was TUR130 on a 930 in Sunningdale. It was a few years ago; wonder if its on a 997tt now? SS7

Quite lucky here in NZ where you can request just about anything at minimal cost - I got RUFOFF with my RUF BTR2 convertible.

I never did see anything like 200MPH or 500BHP which would have been just as possible. Wonder if that sort of plate was not allowed.

heres another bargain... http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/314859.htm MB 08 OFC... I mean i'm sure loads of "die hard" Middlesbrough fans have 25k burning a hole in their pocket. Only a couple of years ago someone up here was trying to sell 8 ORO and it was advertised for ages, IIRC for more like 2k...

Oh they are allowed, I think my favourite (although I wouldnt want it cos the wife would do nasty things to me) was HO BAIT seen recently on a modified Nissan 200sx or whatever they call them over here. Top bid for NO1 POM was about $300 on internet auction last week (www.trademe.co.nz), some plates for sale at present are UDLOZE, 996GT2, GT2 CS, GT2 911, and the cracking SHAGGA at $800 !

One of the best I've seen was in the IOM - A911 MAN (might even have been just 911 MAN come to think of it) on an impact bumper 911 in plae blue (horizon maybe?).

Another I rather like in Wapping is on a beaten up people carrier: "YOB 1T". Makes me laugh, though I'm never really sure why.

I vowed never to buy a car related plate again, however as I own an IT company........ www.ping-its.co.uk (we sponsor the IT section on PH, so it's not a shamless plug may I add) and wanted to leave CUE99T on the Audi, which is not normal as it's usually on my toy, however last week I found a nice suitable little plate for much cheapness for the 911 Turbo........ less than 600 quid all in.

"Valued at 25K I am looking for sensible offers over 12K." Whether for a plate or a classic car, these "valued at X but you can have it for Y" ads really are the most stupid. As if a stranger is going to deliberately sell you anything at less than its value. Sub-text is: "Well, I've got a cr@p plate worth very little, but if I tell you it's worth tens times more than it is, you are so stupid you'll think you've got a bargain if you pay me five times what it's worth."
