I wasn't worried about the warning light to start off with as I thought I could replace the lot later on, but today I started hearing a loud knock from the front of the car whenever I slowed down (using the brakes) and then accelerated again.

My brake fluid is within range however my discs and pads (front and rear) are fairly worn and are going to be replaced soon but preferably after 2k miles as the warranty runs out then.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi everyone, about a week ago I had a light come up on my dash to the right of the handbrake light (an exclamation mark in a circle) and has been coming up a few times since then. As I don't have an owners manual in english I wasn't sure what it was so I called up the dealer and they said my pads probably need replacing. I then found an owners manual online which said that the warning light is for low brake fluid. My brake fluid is within range however my discs and pads (front and rear) are fairly worn and are going to be replaced soon but preferably after 2k miles as the warranty runs out then. I wasn't worried about the warning light to start off with as I thought I could replace the lot later on, but today I started hearing a loud knock from the front of the car whenever I slowed down (using the brakes) and then accelerated again. The pads look like they have enough life in them to last 2k miles or so ... Has anyone experienced any of the above? Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks
