Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

"Greetings earthlings." It's been awhile since I've been here, but I just wanted to share something that could help the 986 community. A few weeks ago I was searching YouTube for anything that could help me with dropping the engine on my 996 (it has issues). I came across a series of videos by "Man in a Garage". His description of his channel: "Can someone with no skills or experience rebuild a Porsche 911 engine and bring this car back to life?" This playlist covers the day the car arrived to (Hopefully) fixing it and driving. I am not a mechanic, I am doing this for fun to share the experience and encourage others to do the same. Yes, he's got a 996, but the 986 engine is practically the same. If you've been looking to do any internal work on your engine then this is worth checking out. It's really well produced and goes into detail about the process. He's a likeable guy who keeps you involved. The series so far has almost 50 videos. He's getting pretty close to getting his 996 going again. I highly recommend binging on this series if this is your thing. Search YouTube for "Man in a Garage". Let me know what you think. - Mig
