Looked in the manual tonight and it mentions if the CD panel has been left down for some period of time the volume will remain at a set level and not alter.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Strange problem this morning. On the way to work the volume stopped working on the stereo. Couldn't turn up or down, and couldn't adjust things like the bass or balance either. Naturally assumed the knob had somehow stopped working. Looked in the manual tonight and it mentions if the CD panel has been left down for some period of time the volume will remain at a set level and not alter. It also mentioned that the front panel can be removed - something I wasn't aware of. Just been out to the car and removed said panel, refitted - same problem. Removed the panel with the radio on, turned it off with panel unattached, stereo beeped, re-attached panel and turned radio back on, and volume now works - hurrah. Thought I'd mention it just in case someone has the same problem in the future - doing my bit and all that jazz......

POST 3Original post

There is a speed signal connection in the loom to the stereo. I believe that you can turn the feature off if you don't like it, which should be shown in the manual.

POST 4Original post

Im genuinely impressed! that is a clever feature!! Its not such a bad stereo the CR-11 apart from it has tapes, but I do have 6 CD's in the boot Now if anyone has a spare CDR-22 lying around I will gladly take it!

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

There's one on ebay at the minute, but think the title is CD 22. Going cheap at the minute.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
