Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

OIL PRESSURE GAUGE ON IGNITION ONLY GOES ALL THE WAY UP TO 5 ON GAUGE AND WILL NOT DEVIATE FROM THIS WITH ENGINE ON OIL LIGHT OUT WITH ENGINE ON HAVE I GOT A FAULTY GAUGE /SENSOR I UNDERSTAND THEY ARE A CURSE TO GET TO . ANY ADVICE PLEASE

POST 2Original post

well your question makes little if any sense but ill try 9/10 times oil pressure guage issues are faulty sensors. The sensor is located on the pass side of the engine. if you look along the pass side of the engine with a flassh light you should be able to see the small round golden oil pressue sensor

POST 3Original post

The oil sending unit often shorts out which will peg your gauge near the top of it's range. Beacuse it pegs the gauge due to electrical input and not mechanical input, your actual oil pressure is probably fine and driving trhe car is not a problem. Replace the sending unit. BTW: Turn off your CAPLOCKS and stop screaming at us please.
