Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I've been following the various how to remove front bumper videos and I'm pretty certain I've removed all the fixings but the bumper still won't come off. I've removed the indicators and taken two Philips screws out....then six or more Torx screws from underneath and finally the two Philips from the top so why won't it come off?[/i]

POST 3Original post

I had this happen the first time I did it and couldn't fathom what was holding it on at the time but a bright sunny day meant finding all the fasteners was tricky, I took the car to a friend's workshop so we could do it indoors with a good torch and I found the two I had missed the first time...

POST 4Original post

Also - there maybe some plastic fastening underneath right in the middle towards the back of the car, have to get right under to remove and will need a torch. Where does it seem stuck??

POST 5Original post

Yes, there are more fasteners than you think, easy to miss them.

POST 6Original post

Sometimes. In my case there were many, many fewer than I was expecting. In fact so many were missing I am amazed the thing hadn't just fallen off.

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Yes all were right....I'd missed two of the underneath screws closest to wheel arch. Eventually after watching some more videos I managed to get the bumper off and cleaned out the radiators which were in surprisingly good condition. Putting it all back together in the gathering darkness was tricky and I've ended up with one extra torq screw probably from underneath and two of those horrible plastic fasteners so I'm going to have to finish it all off on another day.

POST 8Original post

Buy some new plastic fasteners .. its rare they all come out and refit .. new ones are cheap and fit perfectly .
