Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

After all with most systems you need to attach your phone to the head unit so why not just use its display anyway.

I would not rule out the double din, I picked up a spare surround so I could chop out the middle bit and spray it all silver which all worked out OK then used a metra fitting kit to put the double din in- looks good and certainly updates the interior and functionality.

It uses Pioneers own software to make something close to CarPlay and allows you to use Waze etc , steam music and play the normal radio etc all for the bargain price of £85.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi all
Well P day arrived yesterday and I collected a 2003 C4S manual. So I can post and ask daft questions for real now!
First question is, as I want to keep it in as original condition as possible but the CDR23 CD/Radio is a little restrictive connection wise and I don't want to fit a double din unit as i'll have to cut the middle piece of the opening out to fit such a unit in. Instead I've been looking at a motorised flip out screen as I can keep the single din size, but if I fit it into the original aperture the screen will come out in front of the climate control unit blocking it's view from the driver. So I was thinking of putting it down where the cd storage slots are and putting another cubby hole unit where the original CDR23 came from.
So A, will a standard size head unit fit depth wise in the cd storage space?
B, will a storage cubby hole fit into the original radio hole mounting wise?
This will allow the the screen to flip out and not obscure anything.
Thanks
Andrew
Well done Andrew. A manual c4s is a joy to drive, and look at. One of the tech wizards will be along shortly, but in the meantime, get some pics posted!
Cheers Rick
I put a Pioneer Sph-bt10 in mine it's a single DIN that uses your own phone as the display by having a clever phone holder.
After all with most systems you need to attach your phone to the head unit so why not just use its display anyway.

Hope that helps and gives you another alternative.
Welcome on board :thumb:
Lovely looking car - congratulations.
12 months on from my purchase and the pride of saying "I have a 911", hasn't worn off
Enjoy!!
Congrats!
Nice photo. Great looking car - you'll love it.
A few years ago I was buying some hifi & the guy selling delivered to me in a 996. We spent nearly as much time talking about his car rather than the hifi. I remember him saying 'there's nothing like driving a 911!" Hmm - got me thinking...
So last Spring I got my 996 - loved it. So much so circumstances (& a big loan!) allowed me to change to my current 997. I won't be changing cars for a very long time.
Enjoy every minute in your new 'Porker'
Congrats on the purchase.
I've got a Continental in mine. Looks much more like the stock unit than most of the modern stuff. DAB, Bluetooth, streaming from my iPhone and much better sound than the stick unit.
Super easy to fit with a harness from Bergvil.
Hello Andrew,
Would a FM Transmitter work? I have the below link in my C4S and it's great for making/ answering calls, playing music from my iphone, mobile charging and USB play. All sound comes out of the car speakers too.

I umm'ed and err'ed for ages as I liked the single din layout but wouldn't go back now I don't think.
Being CDR23 rather than the earlier CRD22 I had means you're on MOST fibre optic connection I think? Do you have bose or lower door speakers?
Congrats on the C4S, a great choice by my reckoning.
This is a great alternative, works seamlessly and keeps everything OEM. Easy install.
