Seeing as they're off the car, I'd pay someone to repair the seams, then look to sell them.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

9 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi All, I've just replaced my back boxes, so have these original PSE boxes left over. They passed the MOT last year and weren't blowing when they came off and the valves work fine. Obviously the seams on the bottom have started to split at the bottom as usual, but I guess could be welded. Are they worth anything, or should I simply skip them? This isn't an ad, just looking for advice. I'll list them in 'for sale' if the consensus is they are worth flogging. cheers Dave

POST 2Original post

I sleeved the bottom of some I bought to make them last longer before I fitted them, I would definitely sell them, they may help someone out.

POST 3Original post

If the actuators are OK they are worth something. I'd consider buying them. MC

POST 4Original post

PCW exhaust mods can probably weld the seams, then you could sell them for reasonable money. Definitely don't skip them!

POST 5Original post

PSE is widely regarded as sounding the best (all subjective of course) and are very expensive new. Somebody wanting originality or the specific PSE sound might pay handsomely for those. Seeing as they're off the car, I'd pay someone to repair the seams, then look to sell them.

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks all. The ad is up if anyone is interested. http://911uk.com/viewtopic.php?p=1529051#1529051 Cheers Dave

POST 7Original post

They were going in the skip and now they're 150 quid

POST 8 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

It does say ONO they might still end up in the skip!
