Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Reported cause
Ah, in my friends case it was the stock amp that was failing...
Leading evidence: 'stock amp' (1 discussions report identifying this cause; no attributable repair resolution). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'stock amp' (1 discussions; 1 report identifying it and 0 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Check glove windows etc' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Always had an issue regarding there being an "open circuit" on the remote alarm somewhere - checked glove windows etc.

Just cleaned the rads on my 2001 C2 Cab Tiptronic, yesterday and been out today for about 50 miles when the car started chirping very intermittently for about the first 10 miles then disappeared, returned home via a garage about 3 miles from home and same thing started happened again.

I can't figure this out as all I've done is removed front bumper to clean rads and replace where there's no electrics at all.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi,
Always had an issue regarding there being an "open circuit" on the remote alarm somewhere - checked glove windows etc. resulting in every time I locked the car there is a single chirp, but just got used to it
Just cleaned the rads on my 2001 C2 Cab Tiptronic, yesterday and been out today for about 50 miles when the car started chirping very intermittently for about the first 10 miles then disappeared, returned home via a garage about 3 miles from home and same thing started happened again. No regular pattern just a single chirp every say 10- 30 seconds.
No warning lights, car locks on remote OK.
If going for an alarm fault then it's a 10 min check at an indy to see what the fault might be with a chirp or a horn beep on locking ..
You look at the alarm activation and event memories with a tester .. one is the faults that trigger an alarm with the other being what faults the car sees when its locked ... why it makes a noise to alert you in other words and it will list the last 10 times for each of these .
If a non standard radio has been fitted then thats my first guess with the second being the center console cubby lid switch .
Chirp when driving is not one i know so i'll go with Robertb on this one but a fault code check and alarm check are what i would advise as a first point of call .
I can't figure this out as all I've done is removed front bumper to clean rads and replace where there's no electrics at all.
The amp and radio aren't stock but never had an issues prior to today, I'll try rebooting the amp but can't see how this could affect it
That will probably be the non standard radio .. on the left side of the radio once its removed is a wire on a metal plate .. this needs to be unplugged with a non standard radio .. i'm guessing it hasn't been .
You have a new and separate fault it would seem after removing the front bumper .. there is nothing there that could cause this .. the only wiring is the ambient temp sensor .
