Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Not sure if anyone else has this but since removing the targa room motor fronts and greasing the cogs I have a slight clicking noise from one of the motors. The roof closed well and fast so no problem there. Could I have over greased the cogs? Used white lithium grease and not too much.. Thanks

POST 2Original post

Did you remove the motor then grease the drive gear or did you take off the back and grease the white gear inside .. the one with the groves on the inside that mesh into the ally gear ? If the later you might have broken part of this mechanism . There is no need to grease the motors .. it's very rare for them to fail on their own , replacement is normally due to the drive gear wearing out when the cables jam and it slips . Post about problems i did on these roofs here .. http://911uk.com/viewtopic.php?t=116450

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Didn't remove the motors just the front cover and greased the gears inside. them. Maybe too much grease?
