I was looking at another thread where guys were changing the beep beep to a chirp and figured mine was just disabled.

Second owner of an 06 Cayman and there is no beep beep when locking. If I leave the glove compartment open and lock it, I get a beep. So this indicates that the alarm horn is still functional. I also checked and it is connected (was thinking it might just be disconnected). That said, I was wanting to activate this and potentially change it to a chirp instead. Do you think that the previous owner had the dealer deactivate the beep beep? If so, is there a way to get it activated again with a durametric? I have the enthusiast, but was thinking of getting the pro. I don't like messing around with the dealer if I don't have to.

Thank God it doesn't. I cringe every time I hear that awful noise in a parking garage. It would be OK if is was just a quiet chime or something. But that horn sound is grating to my hears.

When I bought my 981S , the beeping was the first thing I had disabled. I just get the parking lights flashing to acknowledge that the door has been locked.

Thanks guys. I was looking at another thread where guys were changing the beep beep to a chirp and figured mine was just disabled. But that was on newer models. My Cayenne does the beep beep so I figured I would kill two birds with one stone. No such luck.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
