Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I've stripped all my suspension out, cleaned the surface with solvent, steam cleaned, taken back to bare metal with a twist knot brush, treated any pitted steal with does C gel and hydrate 80, primmed with electrox.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

2 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

had the front wheels off yesterday for a deep clean, and noticed a number of spots where the paint has chipped off on the inner arch, just being the suspension strut. Any ideas on how to repaint, touch up please.

POST 2Original post

It depends on what area is chipped. The lower area of the front arches is stone chipped then over painted. The upper area is just painted. I find this odd as the rears are fully stone chipped. For basic chips you could probably just clean down, sand the area with 600 or 800 then hit with a colour matched spray. I have surface rust on my inner front arches around the struts due to chips not being dealt with. I've stripped all my suspension out, cleaned the surface with solvent, steam cleaned, taken back to bare metal with a twist knot brush, treated any pitted steal with does C gel and hydrate 80, primmed with electrox. I've decided to stone chip the upper half to prevent it from happening again (Porsche should have done it from the factory). I'll then over paint with body colour. There doesn't appear to be a clear coat on the inner arches which is pretty normal. Mine is a pretty extreme case/solution.
