I ordered it today from Suncoast and will have it installed sometime next week on my 2007 cayman.

Tested the microphone and it sounds really good to the party on the other end.

Suggestion
Remember you would have to obtain a new Porsche mic in lieu of the original one if you car has BOSE and remove the steering column suround to fit it in and perhaps change the plug to one that works with Tooki.

Suggestion
is the tooki able to use the factory original microphone on the sides of the steering wheel or it is part of the installation to install a dedicated microphone?
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi,
Anyone here who has any info regarding Nav-TV's "Tooki" Bluetooth kit?
It seems fairly new and from what I can read on Nav-TV's webpage, it looks promising and well integrated with the PCM.
i'm looking for some information on this too, it looks like it's fully integrated solution for pcm, which is awesome!
anyone know about installers in the california bay area?
I posted a little about it yesterday. I don't have it, but I read a bit about it from their site and the Suncoast site. Suncoast is selling it now, at a cost of $750. Thats a little too pricey for me, but it may fit the bill for you. The only confusing part so far is that I read it requires the GSM module for PCM. That may or may not be correct.
after digging some posts with the help of google it seems that thei unit emulate the porsche phone module as a "phone node" at the MOST bus, which means that the OEM phone module is not required

are you getting it installed by suncoast or by yourself? if you do it by yourself, can you post a guide?
i would also appreciate if you could send the installation guide since it's not available on NAV-TV's website
Installed Today
I just had one installed earlier today. It is just great! The display looks factory and does all it's advertised to do. My phone book downloaded completely and is so EZ to access. Tested the microphone and it sounds really good to the party on the other end. I don't see how it could be any better even considering the few things it doesn't support. Got a factory QUALITY installation at

in Monrovia CA. Ask for Jamey. They do a flawless job.
is the tooki able to use the factory original microphone on the sides of the steering wheel or it is part of the installation to install a dedicated microphone?
Leaper
No I don't have a multi function wheel and I don't know the answer. However I think if you call Jamey at porschetunes he will know-[phone removed]
I believe I have seen a post on another board that refers to the use of the Porsche mic in lieu of the supplied one.
That said, the mic is different to that fitted to the BOSE stereo equipped cars and requires a modification to the plug before it will work with the Tooki.
The post also states that the use of the supplied mic in the steering column fitting ie behind the grill, does not work particularly well.
I cannot recall if the Tooki works well with the Porsche mic fitted in the steering column.
nick, it would be nice if you can find this post about the mic, i think it sould be really nice if it would be possable to use the internal mic without messing with wires.. but i guess it's not that easy.

Installed
I just had mine installed by Boardwalk Porsche and it works really well. They used the dedicated mic and wired into the roof and since it's also black, no-one can tell it's there. Sound quality is awesome and works just as advertised on my 2007 cayman.
I saw the Tooki at CES--in a Cayman Design edition no less--and it works very nicely. I spoke to Parrot and they said they have no plans for a product like this (market size too small) and in fact suggested that I go with the Tooki.
So you did the installation yourself? Can you provide some details on it? How involved was it? How long did it take? Could a relatively skilled consumer do this?
Thanks.
Tooki question
Hey Tooki users,
About every 10th time I use my Tooki, it gets "confused" and I must turn off the car, wait approximately 15 seconds, hear a relay in the passenger footwell area click, and I can restart the car making everything work normally again. I also find about once every 20 or so starts, my XM radio doesn't post the station ID in the speedo and can't change stations. Same fix works for it so I assume that relay click has something to do with the power to the CAN bus.
Has anyone found a quicker "reset" protocol? Thanks.
For those still considering this option, we have closed our recent group buy on the Tooki but will allow up to 10 buyers from CaymanClub to buy at the GB price (a HUGE savings from list). Just put 'caymanclub' in the notes section when you pay at checkout, or simply email me for the details anytime this week.
Thanks.

My apologies for the oversight. The microphone mounting is relatively straight forward. You can put it to either the left of the visor (which I where i mounted it) or the right. The wire is easily smooshed (that's a technical term) behind the trim piece on the left of the windshield, and then down and around the left edge of the dashboard. Use a plastic blade tool (e.g., plastic putty knife) to do the smooshing. I would post a picture, but then there is nothing to see since the wire is hidden.
