I need a favor. I have the nav + telephone modules installed in my car. My dealer can't seem to get the instrument cluster to display the nav directions, telephone info, or pcm cdtext. Can someone confirm for me that the display in the Cayman does display the cdtext from a cd in the PCM (not cdc4) and/or the nav arrows? A picture would be great. I appreciate any help.

I got the pictures of the arrows and that helps a lot. If you tell me cd text shows up, then that is good enough. Do you happen to have a Dension unit and does that text show up? I'm having a h3ll of a time getting my dealer to enable it. This would be much easier if I knew the exact tree to getting it enabled.

The Dension cannot pass along cd-text to the instrument panel, only numbers. The only time I get names are when listening to radio stations with RDBS. The cd player of the PCM should be able to pass along cd text but I haven't figured out to burn a cd with proper cd-text on my mac with iTunes. I only tried once... then I got the Dension/ipod hooked up. - Suneet

No denison on mine. In Itunes try this: Edit Preferences Advanced Burning then check "Include CD text" box I'm going to try and find a CD with text on it and double check about the center cluster screen. Give me 20 minutes. EDIT - OK, went and checked. With CD text, the CD title and song name will show up on the PCM screen and in the center cluster will show "CDS Txx" xx = track number I always have remaining range on that line in the cluster, so I never really paid any attention until now.

The cd-text will show up on the PCM screen from the local cd player. Neither the arrows or the text show up in the cluster. The only text I get is from a radio station. I believe that is because the ins cluster still thinks I have a CDR24 which supported radio text. I've brought it to the dealer to look at twice now. It is getting very irritating. Hopefully someone will bring their PIWIS to crocfest this year and I can get it done.

well I dont play audio CD in the car, but for mp3 CDs, it gives me something like CDS 01 01 As in single CD, folder 1, track 1 ________________________ "Sir! We're surrounded!" - "Excellent! We can shoot in any direction!" A good car will get you from point A to point B. A great car... will just get you into trouble!

Yes. They are supposed to. Don't feel bad. My dealer is having a hard time with it too.
