Hey all,
Need some feedback for those how have the Tooki installed on their Cayman. I do lots of conference calls with the Far East which often require me to be on a call on my commute home.
I will most likely install by the rear view mirror but may resort to the steering column.
I'm wondering the following:
1) General Mic Quality on either location
2) General road noise pick up (am I going to be muting lots?)
Any other feedback would be appreciated too!
Thanks in advance,
eykim
I have mine mounted in the steering column and it works fine. I do know those that do get a better sound quality with it mounted by the rear view mirror however, as I have a Boxster it wasn't a good idea as with the rood down all I got was the wind noise!!
I think either location works well and each has its +-.
I have mine installed between the sun visor and the A pillar, up in that left corner.
Callers tell me that the audio is acceptable, but somewhat hard to hear. Road noise is clearly present.
I also installed mine on the upper left, in between the sun visor and the A pillar. To me, that location is closest to my face, looks the best, and is the most unobtrusive.
I had experimented with placing the mic near the rearview mirror/overhead lights as well as on the steering column (but not
in
the steering column like Nick_USA), and had a friend on the other end of the line reporting sound quality. She did not like the sound of my voice with the mic on top of the steering column (too sharp, possibly because I was facing/talking directly into the mic?). Randomly in all positions she reported an annoying echo of her voice, but I couldn't determine if it was location-dependent, or a problem with the iPhone, or too loud volume. In the end she said there was not much difference in the locations and to just put it where it was most aesthetically pleasing....
I dont have this system and wondered if it is possible to install the mic near the light in the center of the headliner? Would that be weird?
