Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I did exactly that, only I used Soul long tube catless headers along with EVOMS V Flow intake and Softronics Race Plenum kit.

Hi Guys, thanks for the brilliant advice, Ive only had the car a couple of days so im learning about her at the moment, made all the better by you guys brilliant advice, as for the steam coming out of the driver side air Intake UK, it looks like someone filled the coolant to high, pulling down the the filler flap in the Trunk / Boot, the flap was wet with coolant, the coolant appeared Orange??
Leading evidence: 'Use soul long tube catless headers along' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Fill coolant' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.

Use aftermarket si-organic acid coolant like zerex g40

You don't have to buy the Porsche-branded stuff, you can save a lot using aftermarket Si-organic acid coolant like Zerex G40.

Make sure there are no leaks and use the correct fluid.
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi Guys
Im a Porsche Newbie, and purchased this Cayman today, im alittle concerned I noticed in the boot various bits of plumbing, including the air filter?? on checking the engine I notice the car has an IPD plenum chamber, and hard pipe straight from the side air intake, and no airbox,??
I also had steam coming out of the one side air intake??
Kind Regards
Nick
found out what it all is, its an induction pipe with a cone filter on the end, took out the side vent trim to find out, sure enough there was a cone filter behind it........how relieved am i
looks like the previous owner modified the car a little - maybe a bit of bonus for you
perhaps even de-snorked it. search here to see what that entails to confirm if that was done too.
steam coming out from the opposite side? that usually is where the fan blows cool air into the engine bay.
enjoy the new ride and tell us what you've got planned for the car!
You might find a need to extend your induction system through long tube catless headers and a Softronics ECU tune. That will pull all of the upper end mods together and add about 20 hp as well as taking out the flat spot in the torque curve around 3500 to 4500 rpm. Scott at Softronics has 5 different maps to control (Vario Cam Plus) valve advance, spark advance (fuel octane), fuel mixture, throttle body (higher volumetric efficiency) and retuning the resonance valve to match the long tube headers reduced back pressure, all in one giant race file. He also sends an OEM file as well.
I can second the Softronic tune. Scott does good work.
As for steam from the right side I'd look for coolant leaks. It's supposed to be engine compartment cooling air.

Nick- Look up Top Gear long tube catless headers in England. You will be amazed, especially if you asked Scott at Softronics to flash your Bosch ECU. I did exactly that, only I used Soul long tube catless headers along with EVOMS V Flow intake and Softronics Race Plenum kit. What a difference the headers and flash made with the upper end induction like you have, IDP, GT3 throttle body and induction hose to create a air ram effect at higher speeds.
1) coolant level should not be that high
2) that is the wrong coolant
I would take your car in for a complete coolant flush and replacement (or you can do it yourself if you are an experienced do-it-yourselfer). Make sure there are no leaks and use the correct fluid. As Apex1 said, it is pink. You don't have to buy the Porsche-branded stuff, you can save a lot using aftermarket Si-organic acid coolant like Zerex G40.
