Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1Original post

Ok ok ok ok -- we have a 2006 Cayman S that had a Circuit Werks catback already installed. It probably has about 10,000 miles on it. Now before quality issues are brought up, I have inspected the exhaust and it fits very well and there are no obvious quality problems (including welds) that others have complained about. HOWEVER, the drone is ridiculous from about 1500 to 4000rpm. It's so bad that I do not want to drive the car anymore, except to exercise it every 2-3 weeks. ARE THERE ANY INSERTS or easy modifications TO THIS EXISTING SYSTEM, that do not involve major surgery or replacement of major items? NO, I do not want to spend $2300+ on another exhaust for a car that might not be worth over $12K. Have any of you DIYers or engineers come up with a solution, other than welding in a Helmholtz resonator or the like? Appreciate any CONSTRUCTIVE suggestions. Don't need any sidebar opinions or elitist or arrogant comments. Been there and don't need the conflict. Thanks.

POST 2Original post

Jeez, put all those conditions on an asked-for response really makes one want to help you out. Not much. No. Go and buy a stock system. There are tons of used ones for sale. Cheap. Then go check your attitude. As I have probably poked you with a stick, I’m done.

POST 3Original post

Hah, yah I was venting a bit -- recalling the CW customer service guy's response riled me up. I did an internet search and saw that Boost Brothers tested a Circuit Werks V2 catback exhaust, posted on YouTube. They made the following points: 1) The V1 exhaust was made for them in China and poor quality as far as fitment. But 2) .. they now make the exhaust themselves in Texas. Has anyone tried a Circuit Werks V2 on their 987.1 ? ...and XSbank, yah also, I was expecting the typical kind of remark as you made -- totally unhelpful and just critical of my format, not the content. You likewise did not need to respond with your opinion -- keep it technical, will you?

POST 4Original post

I'm not remembering the name of the company or product but suggest you go looking for a modified stock exhaust - I think they gut the warm-up cats but it's a performance boost over the stocker which is easy to live with. Edit: Carnewal (sp?) Modifies the stocker. no easy fixes for drone, just a lot of trial and error. lose the attitude. -PM.
