Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

drove the car on the weekend and found that on idle the car seems to be misfiring (slight judering but not really badly) checked through the srevice history i got with the car and found that the plugs had been changed about 8000 miles ago and it recently had the coil packs changed.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • 911uk: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

hi everyone, jus purchased the love of my life (2002 carerra 4 convertible) 5 days ago. unfortunately the engine management light has come on but there seems no problem with the engine. also when on full lock there is a grinding noise from the passenger side front wheel. :frustrated: im in the brimingham area so please give me some advise, it will be much appreciated

POST 2Original post

Welcome, I suggest taking to the nearsest porsche specialist garage and get the error codes read. If you bought the vehiclefrom a garage get them to pick it up and sort it for you.. Re the front tyre dragging on full lock this is normal and its down to the camber these cars run

POST 3Original post

:agree: they may be able to clear the fault or alternativley it's more than likely to be a faulty sensor - good luck

POST 4Original post

Engine managment lights put the fear of God into you but in fact almost all the occurrences are minor. As posted above a faulty sensor (cheap fix) or possibly MAF sensor (not quite as cheap but not madly expensive) seem to be the most common reasons for engine warnings. Get it checked and you should find its not serious.

POST 5Original post

Welcome aboard, nice car by the sounds of it. Don't panic, it is actually quite common when you buy a new car for the EML to show. Usually because it has spent time stood still and is now back in action. It won't be MAFS as they for some odd reason do not put the light on. My guess is a coil, I reckon your codes will be P0300 & P030* I am local and have access to Durametric to get live data, read & clear codes. I can also get loads of EMS parts at wholesale prices I will PM you my number. :thumb:

POST 6Original post

It could be the MAF. Even though the Check Engine light doesn't come on, it will register a fault code (P0102 or P0103). If the CEL is coming on, it might be caused by other sensors based on an implausible MAF output. P1126 & P1128, for example, are oxygen sensor fault codes which can trigger the CEL due to an incorrect MAF signal. If you find you get error codes from, say, the oxygen sensors on both banks, then it is likely to be the MAF, as it is unlikely that both oxygen sensors have gone simultaneously. Of course, it might be something else entirely, but as has been said, you need to gaet a diagnostic check done, as you are shooting in the dark without it.
