ok i am going to replace my maf today, car rev searching sometimes and is jumping as if its going to stall, tried cleaning carb which worked well and sounds much better but still need to change the maf i think because the air filter was packed with crap.

I will pop the maf into the car on thursday, I am worried after putting in a new maf, new air filter, cleaning the carb the problem may remain but I have read alot of these forums and the problem does point to the maf.

Yup, that easy... Just be carefull with it as it's a tight fit with rubber seal, don't want to damage the new one :thumb:

Don't expect instant results, the DME has to learn the new MAFS (all to do with fuel trim / drive cycle etc) Takes about 12 miles

ok thanks, the thing is the rev searching and shuddering happens very rare, but could be the start of the maf failing.
