Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Sorry if this has been done to death earlier - cant find a thread.
Need advice re tyres.
My 996tt has PS2 on the back and Conti on the front (bothN2)
Cant find N2 PS2 any more. N3 available from Porsche. Rears have plenty of tread and dont need changing. OPC say can't mix and match N rating or manufacturer.
Any suggestions? Also - anyone know reputable tyre specialists in East Lancashire. :?:
Sounds a bit confusing :?
What are you looking for? You say rears dont need changing, so I assume you are looking for Michelin PS2 fronts N2 rated? I'd say if you can't get N2 rated then normal Mich PS2 will be fine, any difference if at all related to N rating would be advantagous over the bank end, as I say 'if'.
Would these be any good?
MICHELIN 225/40R18 MICH PIL SPT2 92Y XL @ £117.65 each
Can someone explain the difference between those and these:
MICHELIN 225/40R18 MICH PIL SP2 88Y ZP @ £188.94 each???
Your OPC doesn't understand the N rating system. They're simply different generations of the same tyre that have been through Porsche approval (the N rating system).
There's absolutely no reason why you can't put a pair of N3 PS2's on the front to match your rear PS2's. Not such a good idea to mix different N numbers on the same axle though.
As OC says, different tyre manufacturers may be on the same N number but it doesn't signify that they can be mixed.
No surprise everyone gets confused about this, so many options and little detail to help everyone understand. It's all about speed rating and load rating, see below.
XL is Extra Load which has stiffer side walls and ZP is Zero Pressure meaning run flat hence the difference in price.
With so many options probably another reason for the N rating system.
Correct Michelin SP2 spec for 18" is
225/40ZR18 88Y N3 Front
285/30ZR18 93Y N3 Rear
In simple terms the ZR rating in conjunction with the Y speed rating means it's a pimped Y spec for cars that can exceed 150MPH for a prolonged period but not exceed 190MPH which is really handy around here of course! :thumb:
