Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

15 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Just had a quote off Kwik Fit for £326 + free MOT - £750 excess Not bad, ok excess is a sting but I do look after the car well and my journeys are mostly quiet A-roads so chances of accident are minimised so much I shouldn't ever have to pay it! Age - 39 Car - High spec. C2 3.4 MY00 valued @ £20000 No tracker, standard alarm Location Worcestershire Added a parent to get extra 10% off I paid £540 + £750 ex last year so quite happy.

POST 7Original post

Crikey! £162 to insure a Porsche. I thought £125 classic insurance for my 1962 VW Beetle 1.2 34HP sedan was cheap! At the end of the day, I suppose they're the same sort of thing I guess

POST 10Original post

Have you just compared my Carrera to a Beetle :what: Thanks... I love beetles, have had my 1970 1200 for 20 years..... I'm not even going to tell you the spec of it, I'm not gonna set myself up for a ''Exelzion'' :floor: Yes, Insurance is cheep... thank god!!.

POST 11Original post

Will they pay up...? I always think you get what you pay for, I am with A Plan and did shop around... when i rang to look at A plan bettering some of my quotes including admiral the guy i spoke to warned that admiral and others are for average cars... so be carefull.... my question... would you all agree?? Cheers Paul

POST 12Original post

Yes, that was the point of my razz! [ ] Either that or you caught me window licking again! PS - the 34HP I boasted about was the 1962 (probably unverified) "factory" figures. 40+ years on, feeble 6V electrics running through porous sheathed cabling and some dodgy points would result in something in the twenties I guess. I did get it up to an indicated 72 mph once, I think. That was with the aerodynamic equivalent of tying one arm behind its back: a roof-rack and external sun-visor!

POST 13Original post

33 y/o, 996TT 2000X worth £30k. £430 with Admiral multicar, but that's in Scotland in the garage overnight with business usage and 15k miles, £350 excess. Not bad at all!

POST 14 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Yes, totally agree on you get what you pay for. Also aware that insurance is pretty much all the same behind the scene. So what you need to do is find the cheapest base from a strong name and then affix some bolt ons. This is what I have just purchased Base insurance - £326 - £30 cash bah + £750 excess Then added Protected NCB Insured the excess (this makes the excess the equivalent of zero as you can claim it all back) Pay monthly APR Legal aid Now it is £400.70 spread over 11 months. Came with lots of other extras like 10% off tyres, free MOT, £350 audio cover and so on. All weighed up, an excellent deal.

POST 15Original post

I'm 31, have 11 ncb and drive a 52 reg 996 Turbo which is garaged. Admiral couldn't be beat for me and I now pay £361 with no restrictions. The excess is £300. Absolutely fantastic deal. Jim :thumb:
