My next issue is that I've just fitted the hardtop to the car and its squeaks like mad when over less than perfect roads.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

2 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Back again for some more advice guys. Have now sorted out all oil leaks etc (last leak was indeed the rear shocker - replacement shock getting fitted in next ew days). My next issue is that I've just fitted the hardtop to the car and its squeaks like mad when over less than perfect roads. The squeak seems to be coming from around the front catch area. I tried lightly greasing the rubber seal above front window frame but it still does same. (wondered if it was just dry rubber / seals etc). I have noticed that if I release the front catch and re-fasten it the squeak goes for a little while but ultimately comes back. Could it be hardtop is sitting lightly squint - do notice when you fit it the passenger side rear (quarter-turn bolt) is a bit of a pig to line up and get in. Is there any way to adjust roof - there are no leaks at all, just this annoying squeak. Any pointers appreciatted, Thanks Alan... PS. apologies if this is repeating old posts - did search back a bit but found nothing quite the same.

There is a 14-page Technical Service Bulletin entitled "Noises in the Hardtop" and covers all sorts of squeaks and rattles, including the area you mention. If you would like details, drop me a PM with your email address.
