Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I just replaced my standard 996 seats with 996 power seats and the easiest way to remove them is unbolt the whole thing from the floor (4 screws, 2-front and 2-back at the ends of the rails).

To me this looks like way more work than just replacing the entire seat.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hey, I'm not really from this section...but I'm thinking about buying some 996 seats to replace the current seats in my car. I was thinking it would be easier if I could just buy some 996 brackets to bolt to the floor in place of my 928 brackets, meaning I wouldn't have to do any modification at all.
So, does anybody have any spares lying around?
Thanks
I'm not 100% sure what you're talking about.

The take-outs are still sitting in my garage so I went and looked at them just now. At least on my seats, the part that contacts the floorpan of the car comes off with the seats.
While it *IS* possible to remove this it also looks like this would be a mess with taking the locking pins out, etc. To me this looks like way more work than just replacing the entire seat. The replacement turbo power seats I bought came with the floor rail and just bolted right in. (They are a U-shaped channel and look nothing like 'every day' posted pics above.)
It sounds like your 928 seats leave a bracket of some sort mounted to the floor when you remove them. Is this correct?
The brackets I have for sale are for the gt3 seats only and bolt to a manual slider which then bolts to the floor. I may be wrong, but I think that most 996 seats will come with the hardware to mount them to the floor - at least gt3 seats do when you order those...
Here is what the bottom of mine look like.
This is the drivers side seat, outside rail. The front edge of the seat in this picture is in the upper right.
You can see the bent down flange where the grey metal and black are together, the hole here lines up directly with the threaded hole in the floorpan. There are no other brackets.
If you need more pics, let me know.
