Just a thought, but painting the bottom bits of the rear bumper would really set the back off.

Suggestion

i was told you can loose a lot of power through these aftermarket wheels, and to put turbo hollowspokes on,i know they dont look great but this car was made for 17/18 so why mess up the geometry, and i wouldnt want to use spacers to get the right offset and risk scraping the arches :dont know: just my oppinion

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

After much deliberation and difference of opinion I finally got my OEM 997 Turbo wheels on my 996TT. 7mm spacers on the front and 15mm spacers on the rear. I need a set of rear tyres so I will be getting 295/30/19's instead of 305/30/19 and then reduce the spacers to 10mm on the rear to push them a little further in. Had a sprited drive yesterday and the car felt fine on the 19's. They caught once on the arch on a very bumpy road so with the 295 tyres and 10 mm spacer they should be fine. I am over the moon with the outcome, what do you guys think???

POST 2Original post

Looks da mutz nutz mate :thumb: Just a thought, but painting the bottom bits of the rear bumper would really set the back off. I noticed the bottom parts of the side skirts and front bumper are already done. The wheels really suit the colour of the car. Makes me wish that I'd held out for a yellow one!! Jim

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks, which bits on the bumper?? it has the Aerokit factory fitted thats why all the skirts and things are painted. I thought all the rear bumper was too?? Graham

POST 4Original post

Sore the car in the flesh on Sunday at the Big breakfast meet. The wheels really suit the car. The yellow paint also stud out, compared to over yellow porsches. Is it factory or have you had it sprayed?

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

The paint was a special order from the factory. I've never seen another like it. Thanks for your knid words.

POST 6Original post

Oi Oi graham, How you doing mate? Car looks great now its back from the menders!!! I saw you had a set of these in Tim's garage when i was up for Mikes wedding, look really good on. the brakes are more noticeable through these wheels. Got any out mods in mind?

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Just the remap Neil uh: then thats it......I think :hand:

POST 8Original post

so it feels ok with 19s on ?? i only ask cos i tried the same on my 996 c4s and it felt wrong . as soon as i put the standard wheels back on ie 18s it felt much more planted and aq hell of a lot better . so no handling issues what so ever ?? :?:

POST 9Original post

The wheels look fantastic but why the need for spacers?

POST 10 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Harry the cars seems ok with the 19's on. Only time will tell I suppose. Thanks for your help by the way it was much appreciated. The wheels are slightly different offsets and that's why you need spacers. Graham

POST 11Original post

POST 12 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Re: spacers As I said in my original post, these wheels are not "aftermarket" they are proper Porsche 997 Turbo alloys 8) I don't do cheap aftermarket wheels as they weigh a ton and are not as strong as OEM wheels. Thanks, Graham

POST 15Original post

hi mate , they do look very good on the car and it's a great colour , very nice motor , enjoy ... harry.
