Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

No matter what i do I can not get the battery out of the car for the bloody alarm going off. My head now hurts... Anyone got any ideas? 2002 C4S... I even read the manual.waste of time...remember now why i don't bother with manuals!

POST 2Original post

the base of the battery may have expanded ? can happen on old or over charged batteries had this on an Audi once, needed a crow bar to get it out

POST 3Original post

If you put the key in the ignition and turn it on so all the dash lights come on then take the battery out the alarm will not go off.It also will keep the radio code etc.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks tried that. No matter what i do now the alarm goes off. Not enough charge to even use the remote. :? Guess it is ear muffs and new battery in and take the headache on the head

POST 5Original post

Or try connecting a separate battery to the connectors with jump leads and then removing the connectors from your battery. Obviously you have to be careful not to knock the jump leads off the connectors or the alarm will go off. Much easier with 2 to do this with one holding the leads away as you remove and refit the battery. I changed my battery like this as I was too lazy to retune my radio and adjust my clock.

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Done. I hunted out one of them Biz class packs you get on long haul flights. they always have ear plugs in. popped them in and just went for it. Sorted and ddin't lose the radio settings...soooo somethign good happend :thumb: Back to driving instead of being frustrated  Thanks for all the advice.. :bye:
