Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have my heart set on a X50 and tbh the Aero kit. Is the X50 worht the premium over standard, bearing in mind both would eventually (if not already) have further power squeezed via a remap. Does the X50 give you a bit more reliability at that power with the upgrades? Performance figures? Simialr to GT2 0-100? also I like static spoilers... but the Aerokit front splitter doesnt agree with me as much as the rear.... Ive read that removing will affect handling due to change in downforce from the rear. I wouldnt want to compromise this. (Does it actually hold the road better - in theory i guess it would.) What would be the effect of a GT2 spoiler with a standard front splitter and has anyone done this?? and yes - I like GT2's!!! But no rear seats!! (Retro fit?? - a possibility if the need arises....anyone done THIS?) Thanks...

POST 2Original post

On purely performance grounds I wouldnt expect the X50 to be quite as quick as the GT2 on weight grounds but not a massive amount in it. Given that you can basically map a standard TT to beyond the X50 the premium on straight line speed would be hard to justify. though you can of course then remap an X50 with the bigger turbos. I suspect there are those who say the other bits that may make a difference.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

In terms of straight line performance I seem to recall that the standard 911TT is around 1.5secs slower 0-100 than a GT2. Less transmission loss, more power and less weight - obvious result. I guess a rempped X50 at around 510hp and 515lb/ft wouldn't be tooo far away from that. Speaking to tuners the standard turbo remapped makes same torque, but slightly les BHP. So in real life would probably feel just as rapid as a rempped X50... I can see I'm going to have to test both variants if I can over the next few weekends!

POST 4Original post

You don't say where you are but I doubt you will find the GT2 a practical daily drive, the car is too low for car park ramps, speed bumps etc making driving in the inner city a painful experience. I regularly bottom out when hitting a dip in A and B roads at speed - having 4 in the car is going to make that worse. As far as 0-60 mph I would not be surprised if the Turbo is faster as it has traction control, the GT2 only gets going when you get out of 2nd gear.

POST 5Original post

Not even close on the 0-100 times. An X50 is as fast as a GT2 to 100 - and in my experience, up to 150 (X50 half a car length behind a mk2 2) !! A remapped X50 will walk away from a stock GT2 all day long. A K16 turbo is 420ps and makes around 420hp, X50's are rated 450ps and usually make anything up to 470hp. The X50 delivery is more laggy but more brutal when it arrives, indeed the 420 car actually produces more power and torque below around 2500rpms. You won't be disappointed with whichever model you go for, but imo the X50 is worth every penny of the premium today.

POST 6Original post

Hi eastos, looks like your after one similar to mine. X50 with aerokit but front bumper changed out to genuine GT2 item! I too wasn't keen on the aerokit front lip :thumb:

POST 7Original post

I agree with the front lip not looking too good as with the howl front bumper looks like crap.. I have the aero kit but was wanting to put on the GT2 front like above. how much pissing around did you have to do to fit it as i've heard you have to move the rad to get the full effect of the top vent.. any info greatfull..

POST 8Original post

having the car that you wish for  all i can say is that the x50 pack is worth every penny, and the residiual prices will always be higher with this on :thumb:

POST 9 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Shaky...that would certianly do it - looks VERY nice!! There are a few for sale currently , not X50 that have the GT2 front bumper on from factory...3k option one guy claims in an advert.. Ive seen your posts before...an ex RS4 owner and MRC'd the porker. Something I'll be doing if it hasnt already been fettled...depending on whether it comes with a warranty. Missed out on what seemed like an absolute bargain, manual, X50,aero, artic silver - its playing on my mind immensely esp as I now see it in a dealers for just a few quid more! I was umming and arring about metropole interior. wasnt to be i guess. A lovely Yellow 04 on ebay as well...same spec - sold. comments accepted about the GT2 ....I live in a town in derbyshire but there are still PLENTY of speed humps to get round. but some nice driving as well close by... Having a browse round a few tomorrow hopefully. There are a couple in 'Driven Image' in yorshre that have caught my eye. nice '03 Blue one, its 'standard' but I'm also wary that my main priority is condition! not big wings! Blue one for sale on here also looks nice

POST 10 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Shaky - you selling - cant stop looking at that!!!

POST 11Original post

you did the right thing tho as that metropole interior is bogging and wont help the re-sale value. as wont wood trim or that very mustard yellow interior they do.. just go for black then tweak as you need with carbon or silver bits.. yep the GT2 front bumper is a three grand option front bumper alone is about £2k then the rad needs moving I think. looks allot better than the standard front bumper.. I find it depends on the colour of the car tho. mines a black one and tends to mask those horrible front grills.. silver cars with standard front bumper and lip I think look horrible even with the aero kit.. an after market GT2 bumper can prob be fitted for allot less as there glass fibre...

POST 12 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Agree on the colour in reflection to the front splitter. Black and Blue tend to suit much better. I'm off to view 3 cars in a few hrs so we'll see what they are like. 3 different colours (Black, Lapis and Artic). man and tip and 3 different interiors....Black metropole brown. Depending on what I decide to pay for the car the kit thats on will more than likely stay on. Unfortuntely I dont have a bottomless pit of cash -

POST 13Original post

What's wrong with Metropole (admitedly it probably doesn't suit any car without a blue exterior)?

POST 14Original post

I could not imagine my car with any other colour interior!!

POST 15 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Yes - doesnt look too bad at all. just got back from looking at 2...one black with the yellowy brown interior and wood inserts. Nice car - Interior is just not my thing. Very nice grey car with best interior ive seen in my opinion- Black sports seats (the ones with the perforations and shoulder wings) - what are these called? It had all the alluminium stuff as well which borught the interior right upto date, steering wheel , vents etc. Graham - NICE CAR! Luv Yellow
